My next buy

Shorts are one of my new favourite items for summer. Ive always been a dress and skirts girl, but this summer feminine florals and pastels seem to be out in favour of a minimalist/ androgynous style or a boho chic/festival look. Ive already stocked up on my blue denim pairs and am looking to add a white denim, black denim and printed pair to my closet.

This pair of 'rip and repair' denims is available at Cotton on, my favourite shop, for around about R275.00. I already have the faded blue denim pair, but I think I might need to go grab the other two colours too. I also need to add that Cotton on is opening a Cavendish Branch soon! eeeek! Now I don't have to travel across Cape Town to get there.

Hope you are having a happy summer!

Denim Dolls

Layering is not only something you do in winter. So leave your winter denims behind and grab one of these cropped denim vests that you can layer with just about anything. Denim is going to be a summer staple this season and key trends to look out for are the 'rip and repair' look, bleaching or worn denim, hardware (such as studs, diamante etc) or to add a softer look you can find one with a lace inset.

My favourite way to wear a cropped vest is paired with a maxi and a bandeau as below. This is especially great to keep you nice and cool for the hot festival season.

You can pick up one of these vests at Topshop. I loooove this light denim, 'Sparkle Sleeveless' vest, which is on sale for only £20.00. The hardware is beautiful and adds a great feminine touch to the garment.

Whats your fav festival item?

Trend Alert: The Graphic Tee

Molly Constable hangs out at the skate park with the boys in this dressed down, 1970’s style shoot. She was dressed by Samantha Chadwick in skate inspired clothing such as denim waistcoats, high top boots, bandanas, graphic tee’s and leggings. I love how photographer Attilio D’Agostino added in action shots of the boys skating and chilling on the sidelines.

The graphic tee is going to be a key trend for the up and coming summer season. They are so easy to wear (as well as flattering) and give you an edgy casual cool look. Here are some t-shirt styles to look out for when picking your graphic tee:

Dropped Armholes:

The Cropped Tee:

Cut-off Sleeves:

Band Tee's:

Knotted Tee's (easy to do with any oversized tee):

The Fringed or Dip Dyed Tee:

Whats great about graphic tee's is that with a cardie, stockings and boots you have the perfect grunge winter outfit too. So next time you are shopping remember these tips to find your perfect graphic tee.
