And God Created Dior...

The Gorgeous Daphne Groeneveld stars in a gorgeous cinematic campaign for Dior Addicts 'Be Iconic'. Based on Brigitte Bardots 'And God Created Women' Daphne plays the part to perfection and even looks remarkably similar to Bardot. Fashion Gone Rogue describes it as 'classic French cinema sentimentality and sensuality'. Daphne frolicks on a St Tropez beach charming all the men along the way. I thinks she's absolutely gorgeous.

Decades of British Fashion

The June cover of S Moda celebrates British fashion in anticipation of the upcoming British Olymipcs. Lily Cole travels through the decades of British inspired fashion from 1960-2000 and she looks absolutely FAB :)

Style by Alberto Murtra the shoot features garments from Nina Ricci, Maison Martin Margiela, Givenchy and others. The shoot also features some fabulous millinery, as should be included with any British fashion history expose.

My fav items are the 'Boho Chic' 2000 crown hat. Its very Vivienne Westwood, who is the epitome of Brit Fashion. And also the 1980's punk outfit with the smoking which inspires the gucci goth in me.

So travel back through the era's of fashion:

The Glam & The Grunge

Growing up in the ninties I never really had much appreciation for the fashion or the chunky heels. But this season has completely revived my inner grunge queen and im channeling my inner 90's Kate Moss and even a little Courtney Love (in her good days) mixed with the glam of all the top 90's supermodels :) DSquared has quickly become one of my favourite designers and their new 2013 Resort Collection is the epitome of what I am loving at the moment.

Fashion Gone Rogue says "Posing in biker couture looks, Cara waits by a pay phone in flirtatious ensembles sure to catch any guy’s eye. For the evening wear section, the Catens offer renaissance maxi gowns in black paired with leather jackets."

I am completely infatuated with this glam biker grunge look. Definately a style trend to inspire your wardrobe this season.

Loving all the gold

Cara is looking HOT in hot pink :)

Lady Gaga and the Hair Bow

Since Lady Gaga is heading over here to give us a show it seems only fair to honour one of her most FAMOUS styles and believe it or not its not a piece of clothing.

Patricia Morales, her hair stylist, said

“I had several concepts in mind for the poker face video and the idea of a bow made of hair was one that she was interested in using for the video. Gaga wanted a bow that had more of a Hello Kitty shape and so together, we modified the original idea and created the iconic hair bow seen in the video”.

Although I am struggling to find any information on the history of the "Hair Bow" I have found this picture dating 1940, proving that Lady Gaga did not in fact invent the hair bow.

This fab trend would take a stylist a few hours to do and would cost a pretty penny, but you can cheat the system by getting a hair piece made or buying one from an accessories shop and then simply fixing it to your head when you'd like to wear it. :)

One of my fav adaptations of the hair bow was done by Chanel adding a slight minnie mouse ear feel to the look

Riley Keough

Who is this beautiful pin-up you ask?

Why its only Elvis's grand daughter Riley Keough. Coming from true rock n roll ROYALTY, the 23 year old model and actress was born 12 years after Elvis died and has had both Michael Jackson and Nicholas Cage as step dads. Three years ago she left modelling behind to become an actress (remember Marie Curie, Dakota Fannings sister in The Runaways?)
What a stunner :)

One of my fav things about the 1950's was the oversized detailing on garments. This would come in the form of HUGE buttons, oversized cuffs on coats, big shawl collars and Dolman sleeves (now known as the bat-wing). I love the modern takes that modcloth does on this key 1950's fashion detail. Modcloth are trending on oversized bows in their fall 'bow-mance' collection. You can grab a scarf for $7.99 which has multi-uses or if you are feeling adventurous have a look at their gorgeous gingham shoes. Their dresses, with pretty nipped in waists, are always top of my list for a retro feminine feel.

Check out  Amoureux Vintage for some very cute cropped tops with very large bows :)

The Wonderland Couture series by Feline Blush is a beautiful and magical underwater campaign for their first couture collection. The talented (and South African) Ilse Moore created these surreal shots which were inspired by French cinematography artists such as Jean Luc Godard, who is considered the most radical French film maker of the 1960's and 70's.

The four dresses were created by Esin Ünlü with digital print on chiffon and satin which swept through the water gracefully and romantically. The dresses where finished off with beautiful French lace detailing.

This eccentric shoot is straight out of the Alice in Wonderland fairytale. I am loving the torn up paper and birdcage props, which immediately appeal to the inner Alice in all of us.

ps. LOVING her red hair :)

"Through Wonderland Couture, Feline Blush declares her undying love for the illusory. She rises above and dives deep into the fluid texture of the turquoise waters, as she contemplates her world anew, with each frame.
Explore the capricious beauty of her world, the realm of fascinating deformation."
