Ohsococo's favorite label Wildfox has produced a fun and quirky jewellery range that embodies their California Girl aesthetic. This seasons range runs around Love and Cowboys with hearts, guns, rosaries and skulls. (Have a look at my last Wildfox post 'Oh Baby, Lets Be Outlaws'.)
You can check out Wildfox Jewellery and buy pieceshere. Key pieces for me are the Rosaries, red and gold 'Wildfox' bracelet and Cow Skull rings
While trend researching for a new blog post I realised that yet again the Nautical trend is upon us. But if you're going to do it at least do it with some elegance.Modcloth has the perfect example of how to do this. The classical silhouettes of the dresses provide an authentic 1920's boardwalk feel. With beautiful colour and old fashioned collars they are providing a nice alternative to the commercial nautical attire. Even the shoes have an authentic feel with lowered and chunkier heels. But as we, here in Cape Town, are going into winter now try pairing up a dress with ivory stockings, a white and navy striped blazer or a little neck scarf tied in a bow for a winter orientated look.
Once upon a time I stumbled across a fashion video that blew my mind <3
It belonged to a designer called Lanvin who did a range for H&M and you have to check out theirlookbook. His youthful range is reminiscent of an heiress in her old fashioned hotel and although a commercial range it has a certain haute couture for the masses feel. I love the texture, florals, gloves, beautiful bright colour and mostly the attitude of the label. Definitely a winning range.
Louis Vuitton’s Traveling Woman – Louis Vuitton creative director Marc Jacobs celebrated the label’s heritage with an accessories driven fall 2012 presentation shown in a turn of the century train station set. Each model walked down the runway with an uniformed porter by her side, carrying her luggage and bags. The twentieth century style did not just stop with the elaborate set. Garments played on a lean, classic silhouette modernized by proportion and length such as a cropped jacket or leggings layered underneath a dress. Oversize hats and decorative patterns also dominated the runway as did platform heels. The timeless elegance got a bejeweled flair with gem adorned fabrics and clasps. After a look back at the past, the show ended with a trio of metallic silver looks as if a nod to the future ahead.
With the change in weather has come a conflict in fashion and it seems people cant decide if they want to be sweet or sultry this season. Whether its Stripe or Solids, Metallics or Neutrals, Cute Animals or Wild Animals, Pastel Princess or Glam Rock Diva its seems we are all a bit confused. So now its time to decide which side you are on.
Is there any way to feel more old fashioned than a hand stitched coin purse :) The gorgeous babies were handmade by Lazydoll and are all available on her etsy. They come with names such as 'Meow the Cat Girl', 'Sheep Boy' and 'Bunny girl'. I love the little heart clasp.
